REPUBLIC ACTS
AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS EIGHTEEN
AND NINETEEN OF THE PHILIPPINE TARIFF ACT OF AUGUST FIVE, NINETEEN
HUNDRED AND NINE, AS AMENDED |
Section 1. Section eighteen of the Act of the Congress of the United States approved on August five, nineteen hundred and nine, as amended by Act Numbered Forty hundred and thirty-four, and continued in force and effect on and after July, four, nineteen hundred and forty-six by Republic Act Numbered Three, is further amended to read as follows: "Sec.
18. That invoices required by the preceding Sec.
shall, at or before the shipment of the merchandise, be produced to the
consular officer of the Philippines of the consular district in which
the merchandise was manufactured or purchased, or from which it is
shipped, as the case may be. Sec. 2. Sec. nineteen of the Act of the Congress of the United States approved on August five, nineteen hundred and nine, as continued in force and effect on and after July four, nineteen hundred and forty-six, by Republic Act Numbered Three, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec.
19. The consular officers of the Philippines having
any knowledge or information of any case or practice by which any
person obtaining verification of any invoice defrauds or may defraud
the revenue of the Philippines shall report the facts to the Insular
Collector of Customs, through the Secretary of Foreign Affairs." Sec. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval. Approved: June 14, 1947.
