Y2K presents varying problems involving taxation.  The question of whether taxpayers should be allowed to deduct expenses and costs incurred in making their systems Y2K compliant is one.  Another is whether the cost of prosecuting or defending a suit occasioned by Y2K may be considered for taxation purposes.  This and other equally pressing tax issues deserve to be addressed now.
