BATAS PAMBANSA BILANG. 146BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 146 - AN ACT
CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF GODOD, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE
Section 1. The
name of the municipality. — There shall be created the Municipality of
Godod, Province of Zamboanga del Norte, out of the Southern barangays,
namely; Godod, Sianan, Rambon, Baluno, Sarawagan, Guisapong, Dipopor,
Limbonga, Bunawan, Miampic, San Pedro and Raba. The set of the
municipal government shall be in Barangay Godod.
Sec. 2. The technical description of the municipal
territory. — The technical description of the territorial jurisdiction
of the Municipality of Godod shall be: "Beginning from the confluence
of Polandoc and Lumogom Rivers; thence due west until it reaches Mucas
River; thence following Mucas River upstream until it reaches the
confluence of Mucas and Miampic Rivers; thence following Miampic River
upstream until it intersects longitude one hundred twenty-three degrees
and forty-six minutes (123º 46'); thence southeast in straight
line until it reaches the intersection of longitude one hundred twenty
three degrees and forty seven minutes (123º 47') and the
provincial boundary between Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur;
thence following the provincial boundary eastward until it reaches
Polandoc River; thence following Polandoc River downstream until it
reaches the confluence of Polandoc and Lumogom Rivers, the point of
beginning."
Sec. 3. The Municipal government officials, their
qualifications and salaries. — The municipal government officials,
their qualifications and salaries, emoluments or compensations shall be
those provided for and fixed by existing law.
Sec. 4. The first mayor, vice-mayor, and members
of the sangguniang bayan of the Municipality of Godod shall be
appointed by the President, and shall hold office until their
successors shall have been duly elected and assumed office.
Sec. 5. The Municipality of Godod shall begin to
exist only upon approval by a majority of the votes casts in the
plebiscite to be conducted by the Commission on Elections in the unit
or units affected.
Sec. 6. Effectivity. — This Act shall take effect
upon its approval.
