EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 342 - DELEGATING TO THE SECRETARY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT THE POWER TO APPOINT CERTAIN LOCAL OFFICIALS UNDER SECTIONS 42(4), 48(3), 49(2), 146(1) AND (2), 173(1) AND (5), AND 205(2) OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE, AS AMENDED

I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and the laws, do hereby delegate the power of the President to appoint certain local officials under Sec. 42(4), 48(3), 49(2), 146(1) and (2), 173(1) and (5), and 205(2) of the Local Government Code, as amended, to the Secretary of Local Government, who shall sign, “By authority of the President.”  

Memorandum Order No. 188, dated August 16, 1988, is hereby revoked. All other orders, rules, and regulations in conflict or inconsistent herewith are hereby modified or revoked accordingly.

This Executive Order shall take effect immediately. 

DONE in the City of Manila, this 28th day of November in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty-eight.
