EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 386 - AMENDING
CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 369, DATED SEPTEMBER 6, 1996
WHICH CREATED THE SOCIAL PROTECTION COORDINATING COMMITTEE TO HARMONIZE
AND COORDINATE SOCIAL PROTECTION POLICIES AND PROGRAMS

| I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the
Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby
amend certain provisions of Executive Order No. 369, dated September 6,
1996, and order the following: SECTION 1. Section 2 is hereby amended to include as Committee members the Secretaries of the Department of Health and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, as well as labor representatives, one (1) each from the private, public and informal sector. SECTION 2. Section 3 is hereby amended to read as follows: “Section
3. Responsibility of the Committee. — The Committee
shall undertake a complete and comprehensive review and study of the
various social protection programs of the Philippines, including but
not limited to, the programs being implemented by the SSS, GSIS, ECC,
HDMF, the new Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and the
RSBS/AFP, with the end view of reforming, rationalizing and aligning
them, taking into account the need of the people, on the one hand, and
the prevailing social and economic conditions and available resources,
on the other. Within nine (9) months from the issuance of this
Executive Order, the Committee shall submit to the President its
findings and recommendations.”
SECTION 3. Effectivity. — This Executive Order shall take effect immediately. DONE in the City of Manila, this 9th day of December in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Six. |
