SUBJECT:   RE SUBMISSION OF REPORT ON DECISIONS RENDERED IN ALL CRIMINAL CASES.

For the information and guidance of all concerned, quoted hereunder is the letter dated January 9, 1978 of NBI Director Jolly R. Bugarin.

"9 January 1978
"Hon. Ricardo C. Puno
Acting Judicial Consultant
Supreme Court of the Philippines
M a n i l a

"Dear Justice Puno:

"The National Bureau of Investigation is in the process of computerizing its records in order to cope up with the needs of the times. There is an ever-increasing number of names, and volumes of records being recorded and filed each day. Various government agencies and entities, as well as foreign counterparts are regularly serviced by the Bureau in their request for records-check. A large number of clearance applicants come everyday to be cleared.

"The various courts in the country have been furnishing us with records on cases brought before them. It is respectfully requested, however, that said courts be advised to immediately forward to this Bureau, decisions in all criminal cases (conviction or acquittal), with the personal circumstances, as complete as possible, of the persons involved.

"The cooperation that we would get from the said courts in this regard shall be great a help in the endeavor being undertaken.

"Very truly yours,

[Sgd.]
JOLLY R. BURAGIN
Director
