PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1103 -
AMENDING PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 829, REGARDING THE INCREASE OF BASE
PAY OF PMA AND PAFFS CADETS AND PROBATIONARY SECOND LIEUTENANTS

| WHEREAS,
the prevailing rate of base pay of PMA and PAFFS Cadets and
Probationary Second Lieutenants is inadequate to meet the spiralling
costs of education and social training which may prejudice the quality
of future officers of the AFP; WHEREAS, the base pay rates of Second Lieutenant/Ensign and Master Sergeant/Chief Petty Officer have been increased to P700.00 and P410.00, respectively, pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 854; WHEREAS, there is really a need to increase the base pay of PMA and PAFFS Cadets and probationary Second Lieutenants in order to define their relative status in relation to the officers and enlisted personnel of the AFP; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution as Commander-in-Chief of all the Armed Forces of the Philippines and pursuant to Proclamation No. 1081, dated September 21, 1972, as amended, do hereby authorized the prescribed amount of FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY (P550.00) PESOS as the monthly base pay for each cadet of the Philippine Military Academy and the Philippiner Force Flying School, and each Probationary Second Lieutenant, effective January 1, 1977. The Secretary of National Defense shall promulgate rules and regulations to carry out the provisions of this decree. Done in the City of Manila, this 1st day of March, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-seven. |
