Section 2 of PD 360 provides that the positions of Commanders of Task
Forces, Major Units and other key positions of the AFP shall be
authorized the grade of Brigadier General/Commodore as the President

WHEREAS, the Commander of the Southern Command occupies a position of
major responsibility equivalent to those of the Commanders of Major
Services and the Presidential Security Command and exercises
operational jurisdiction over the majority of AFP units operating in

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines,
by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution as
Commander-in-Chief of all the Armed Forces of the Philippines and
pursuant to Proclamation No. 1081, dated September 21, 1972,
Proclamation No. 1004, dated January 17, 1973 and General Order No. 1
dated September 22, 1972, as amended, do hereby that:cralaw:red
Section 1 of the Presidential Decree Numbered Three Hundred Sixty dated
December 30, 1973 is hereby amended to read:cralaw:red
"1. The following positions in the Armed Forces of
the Philippines shall be authorized the grades or their equivalent in
