REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3269 - AN ACT
CONVERTING THE ISABELA PUERICULTURE CENTER IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF
ISABELA, PROVINCE OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, INTO A MATERNITY AND EMERGENCY
HOSPITAL, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR

1. The Isabela Puriculture Center in the Municipality
of Isabela, Province of Negros Occidental, is hereby converted into a
maternity and emergency hospital under the Bureau of Medical Services,
to be known as the Isabela Maternity and Emergency Hospital. The chief
of hospital shall be appointed by the Secretary of Health upon the
recommendation of the Director of Medical Services. Sec. 2. No person shall be appointed chief of the Isabela Maternity and Emergency Hospital unless he is a graduated of medical college recognized by the government, has passed examination for the practice of the medical profession given by the Board of Medical Examiners and has been in the actual practice of medical profession for at least five years prior to his appointment. Sec. 3. The Secretary of Health shall prescribe the rules and regulations for the establishment and operation of the hospital and shall also appoint the subordinate personnel of the same for its proper operation to carry into effect the purpose of this Act. Sec. 4. The chief of the hospital shall exercise the powers, duties and functions that are generally granted to chiefs of government hospitals. Sec. 5. The sum of fifty thousand pesos, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, is hereby authorized to be appropriated for the operation and maintenance of the Isabela Maternity and Emergency Hospital for the fiscal year nineteen hundred sixty-one to nineteen hundred sixty-two and, thereafter, the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary to carry into effect the purposes of this Act shall be included in the annual General Appropriation Acts. Sec. 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. Approved: June 17, 1961. |
