| REPUBLIC ACT NO. 254 - AN
ACT AUTHORIZING THE MUNICIPALITY OF CATBALOGAN, PROVINCE OF SAMAR, TO
ACQUIRE SUCH LAND OR LANDS AS MAY BE NECESSARY FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
A WORKMEN'S BARRIO AND BOY'S TOWN IN SAID MUNICIPALITY |
| Section
1. The municipality of Catbalogan, Province of Samar,
is hereby authorized, with the consent of the Secretary of the Interior
first had, to acquire by purchase or expropriation proceedings such
land or lands as may be necessary for the establishment of a workmen's
barrio and a boy's town in said municipality. Section 2. The municipality of Catbalogan is likewise authorized, subject to such rules and regulations as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe, to subdivide said land or lands into residential lots and to construct thereon adequate housing facilities which the municipality shall lease or sell, together with the corresponding lot, on installments for a period not exceeding ten years, to low-salaried employees and deserving workmen or laborers of said municipality, at cost and under such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the Secretary of the Interior. Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. Approved: June 14, 1948 |
