REPUBLIC ACT NO. 750


 


REPUBLIC ACT NO. 750 - AN ACT DESIGNATING AS SPECIAL AGENTS OF THE BUREAU OF IMMIGRATION ALL PROVINCIAL, CITY AND MUNICIPAL TREASURERS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ALLOCATIONS TO THE PROVINCIAL, CITY, AND MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTS OF TEN PER CENTUM OF CERTAIN FEES COLLECTED IN THEIR RESPECTIVE TERRITORIAL LIMITS



Section 1.    The provisions of existing laws notwithstanding, all provincial city, and municipal treasurers, are hereby designated ex officio special agents of the Bureau of Immigration, to serve without additional compensation, and to perform such functions as the Commissioner of Immigration shall, with the approval of the President of the Philippines, define by appropriate rules and regulations.  

Section 2.    From all collections made by the Government by reason of the enforcement of the provisions of sections forty-four to forty-six, inclusive, of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, as amended, or by reason of any fine or forfeiture that is now or may hereafter be imposed for violation of immigration laws or regulations, where such collections shall have been made possible by discovery of and report regarding any violation by any of the special agents designated pursuant to section one hereof, and from all collections made by the Government by reason of the enforcement of the provisions of the Alien Registration Act of 1950, or by reason of the imposition of any fee, fine, or forfeiture that is now or may hereafter be made in connection with the registration of aliens, ten per centum shall accrue to the general funds of the city or municipality whose treasurer discovered or reported the violation of the immigration or alien registration laws or regulations, or where the alien registration fees have been collected, while another ten per centum shall accrue to the general funds of the province within which said city or municipality is situated.

Section 3.    This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
