Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated 25 January 2010:
G.R. No. 171450 - THE PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINES, plaintiff-appellee v. FERDILINA MANUEL, accused-appellant.
Considering the issue and arguments raised in the appeal, the Court resolves to:
WHEREFORE, premises considered, we AFFIRM with MODIFICATION the decision dated December 20, 2005 in CA-G.R. CR-H.C. No. 01427 finding the accused-appellant FERDILINA MANUEL guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of illegal recruitment in large scale defined and penalized under Republic Act No. 8042. The fine is increased from P100,000.00 to P500,000.00 and is hereby imposed on her. Abad, J., on official leave.

Considering the issue and arguments raised in the appeal, the Court resolves to:
(1) ADOPT the findings of fact and conclusions of law of the Court of Appeals in the decision dated December 20, 2005 in CA-G.R. CR-H.C. No. 01427 which affirmed with modification the decision dated April 17, 2001 of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 70, Pasig City, in Criminal Case No. 115498.
(2) DENY the appeal for failure to sufficiently show any reversible error committed by the Court of Appeals in finding the accused-appellant FERDILINA MANUEL guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of illegal recruitment in large scale, pursuant to Republic Act No. 8042 (Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995); and
(3) MODIFY the amount of fine by increasing it from P100,000.00 to P500,000.00, pursuant to Section 7 (b) of Republic Act No. 8042.
