Gentlemen:

Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated JAN 19, 1999.

G.R. No. 135927 (Sultan Usman Sarangani, et al. vs. Commission on Elections, et al.)

Acting on the Motion for Consolidation of this case with G.R. No. 134456 (Sultan Sarangani, et al. vs. Commission on Elections, et al.) also an En Banc case, filed by counsel for petitioners, dated November 3, 1998, the Court resolved to DENY the motion for consolidation, considering that the petition, as well as the amended petition in G.R. No. 134456, were dismissed in the resolutions of August 4, 1998 and August 18, 1998, respectively and in the resolution of November 17, 1998, in G.R. No. 135927, respondents were required to comment on the petition.

The motion filed by the Solicitor General for public respondents, dated December 1, 1998, for an extension of thirty (30) days from the expiration of the original period or until January 6, 1999, within which to file comment (not brief), is GRANTED.
