Gentlemen:

Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated JAN 26, 1999.

A.M. No. 99-1-02-RTC (Re: Request of Branch Clerk of Court Alma C.D. Esidera for permission to appear as counsel.)

Acting on the Letter, dated 20 November 1998, of Atty. Alma C.D. Esidera, Branch Clerk of Court, Regional Trial Court, Branch 20, Catarman, Northern Samar, requesting permission to assist the husband of her sister-in-law in his defense in Administrative Case No. 98-02 before the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Northern Samar, considering the trust and confidence they repose in her as a member of the family, and the high cost of litigation especially the professional fees of lawyers, the Court Resolved to DENY the request of Branch Clerk of Court Alma C.D. Esidera to appear as counsel for the husband of her sister-in-law, in Administrative Case No. 98-02 before the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Northern Samar, in line with the policy of this Court allowing court officers/employees to engage in the practice of their profession only in cases when they themselves or any immediate member of their family is personally involved (Administrative Matter No. 91-7-1375-RTC).
