Gentlemen:
Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated MAR 2, 1999.
G.R. Nos. 134823-25 (People of the Philippines vs. Antonio Hamton a.k.a. "Boy Negro" [Prision Mayor], Arnold Lopez y Serrano a.k.a. "Adan Manalo," Arthur Pangilinan y de Guzman a.k.a. "Toring" and ReynaldoYambot y Masagaya.)
The Court Resolved to (a) ACCEPT these cases and (b) DIRECT: (1) Atty. Teresita G. Dimaisip, Acting Chief, Judicial Records Office, this Court to SEND NOTICES to the parties to file their respective briefs and (2) the Director of the Bureau of Prisons to CONFIRM the detention of the accused at the National Penitentiary.
The Court further Resolved to NOTE and DENY for lack of merit, the Motion/Manifestation filed by counsel for accused Antonio Hamton, dated January 20, 1999, praying this Court to issue an order granting the posting of additional bond and directing the proper entity, person or persons to accept the bond, issue the proper order of release and effect the release of accused Antonio Hamton from the National Penitentiary in Muntinlupa." Vitug and Panganiban, JJ., are on official leave.
