RE: NBI'S ENTRAPMENT OPTN. INVOLVING JUDGE SURIAGA

Gentlemen:
Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated MAY 4, 1999.
A.M. No. 99-4-51-MTCC (Re: National Bureau of Investigation's (NBI's) Entrapment Operation involving Judge Wilfredo S. Suriaga, MTCC, Angeles City, Pampanga.)
Acting on this administrative matter, the Court Resolved to:
(1) TREAT and DOCKET this as a regular administrative matter;
(2) REQUIRE Judge Wilfredo Samson Suriaga ANSWER the complaint dated April 16, 1999, within a non-extendible period of ten (10) days from notice;
(3) REQUIRE Judge Philbert Ituralde to ANSWER the complaint of Mr. Federico Calilung dated April 16, 1999, also within a non-extendible period of ten (10) days from notice;
(4) Refer the instant matter to Mr. Justice Pedro Ramirez of the Office of the Court Administrator for immediate investigation, report and recommendation within thirty (30) days from notice;
(5) Place Judge Suriaga immediately under PREVENTIVE SUSPENSION pending the resolution of the investigation; and
(6) Place Judge Ituralde immediately under PREVENTIVE SUSPENSION pending the investigation and until further orders from this Court.
The Clerk of Court or the Office of the Court Administrator shall see to the immediate service of copies of this resolution on Judge Philbert Ituralde and Judge Wilfredo Samson Suriaga.
This resolution is immediately executory.
