Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated JUN 7 2000.

G.R. No. 135029 (People of the Philippines vs. Nestor Carriaga, Cosme Carriaga and Ben Palis.)

Considering the motion for clarification filed by Atty. Juan de Ocampo inquiring whether he is now relieved of his appointment as counsel de oficio for accused-appellant Ben Palis, the Court Resolved to RECALL the Court Resolution dated June 23, 1999 designating him as counsel de oficio for said accused-appellant. The Court further RESOLVED to (a) DESIGNATE Atty. Danilo Ortiz of Sycip Salazar Hernandez and Gatmaitan Law Offices, Sycip Law - All Asia Center, No. 105 Paseo de Roxas, makati City, as counsel de oficio to represent accused-appellant Ben Palis, as well as accused-appellants Nestor Carriaga and Cosme Carriaga; (b) GRANT the motion of Atty. Danilo Ortiz for an extension of thirty (30) days from April 15, 2000 within which to file appellant's brief, and (c) NOTE the letter dated April 3, 2000 of accused-appellant Ben Palis requesting for help in this case.
