Gentlemen:
Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated MAR 7 2000.
G.R. No. 140232 (Presidential Commission on Good Government [PCGG], Represented by Orlando L. Salvador vs. Hon. Aniano Desierto Office of the Ombudsman, et al.)
In the resolution of 22 November 1999 of the Court, respondents were required to comment o the petition for certiorari filed by the Presidential Commission on Good Government.
The comment of respondent Placido Mapa, Jr., was noted in the resolution of 22 February 2000.
For the Court's consideration are the (1) manifestation and motion in lieu of comment, dated 01 February 2000, filed by respondent Ombudsman Aniano S. Desierto, praying that the case be remanded to the Office of the Ombudsman for preliminary investigation, and (2) manifestation, dated 31 January 2000, of Philippine National Bank ("PNB") Legal Department informing the Court that respondents Fernando Maramag, Gerardo Agulto, Jr., Panfilo Domingo, Jose A. Ro�o, Renato D. Tayag, Ismael Reynoso and Manuel Morales, past officers and directors of PNB, are no longer connected with the bank. The Court was furnished the present address of respondents Agulto, Jr., Domingo and Ro�o. The Court was likewise informed that respondents Maramag, Jr., Tayag, and Reynoso, had since died.
Considering the foregoing, the Clerk of Court is directed to furnish respondents Agulto, Jr., Domingo, and Ro�o, with the Court's resolutions at the addresses provided by PNB.
Considering further the manifestation and motion of Ombudsman Desierto, respondents Mapa, Agulto, Jr., Domingo and Ro�o are required to COMMENT thereon within ten (10) days from notice. Pardo, J., is abroad on official business.
