Gentlemen:

Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated JAN 12 2004.

G.R. No. 130710 (People of the Philippines vs. Antonio Cabansay, et al.)

In view of the statement of Executive Director Reynaldo G. Bayang of the Board of Pardons and Parole in his Compliance dated May 8, 2003 that:

xxx the Board, even before receipt of the Resolution dated March 5, 2003 has already rectified its mistake with a recommendation to the President that the "Order of Commutation" issued to appellant be cancelled. It has also cancelled the "discharge on parole" extended to appellant.

the Court Resolves to require the Office of the Solicitor General, within ten (10) days from notice, to:

1) Submit a report on the action of the President of the Republic of the Philippines on the cancellation of the Order of Commutation granted to accused-appellant; and

2) Furnish the Court with a copy of the resolution canceling the discharge on parole of herein accused-appellant.
