[G.R. No. 166724.April 12, 2005]
LIMPIADO vs. CSC
EN BANC
Sirs/Mesdames:
Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated APR 12 2005.
G.R. No. 166724 (Ricardo B. Limpiado vs. Civil Service Commission.)
The Court Resolved to DENY the Second Motion for Extension of Time to File Petition for Review dated 22 February 2005 filed by counsel for petitioner, considering that in the resolution of 15 February 2005, the first motion for extension was granted with a warning that no further extension will be given by the Court.
Pursuant to Rule 45 and other related provisions of the 1997 Rules of Civil Procedure, as amended, governing appeals by certiorari to the Supreme Court, only petitions which are accompanied by or which comply strictly with the requirements specified therein shall be entertained. On the basis thereof, the Court likewise Resolved to DENY the petition for late filing, as the same was filed beyond the extended period pursuant to Rule 56, Section 5(a).
In any event, the petition would still be denied for failure thereof to sufficiently show that the public respondent committed any reversible error in issuing the challenged decision as to warrant the exercise by this Court of its discretionary appellate jurisdiction.
Very truly yours,
(Sgd.) LUZVIMINDA D. PUNO
Clerk of Court
