DESIGNATION OF DEPUTY COURT ADMINISTRATOR CHRISTOPHER O. LOCK AS CHAIRPERSON OF THE NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE FOR THE 2004 CHIEF JUSTICE AWARDS FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE IN THE JUDICIARY.

WHEREAS, on 13 April 2004, the Chief Justice issued Memorandum Circular No. 04-2004 entitled Announcing the Launching of the Search for the 2004 Chief Justice Awardees for Outstanding Service in the Judiciary;

WHEREAS, Section XI of Memorandum Circular No. 04-2004 provides that the Nominations Committee shall be chaired by the Assistant Court Administrator in charge of the Office of Administrative Services who at the time of its issuance was Assistant Court Administrator Carlos L. de Leon;

WHEREAS, Hon. Carlos L. de Leon transferred to an agency in the Office of the President effective 16 August 2004;

WHEREAS, the vacancy in the position of the Chairperson of the Nominations Committee must forthwith be filled because of the continuing work of the Committee.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Chief Justice hereby designates Deputy Court Administrator Christopher O. Lock as Chairperson of the Nominations Committee for the 2004 Chief Justice Awards for Outstanding Service in the Judiciary.

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
