Sec. 569d. Safety award and promotional materials
(a) Promotion of safety program
(1) Procurement of promotional materials
The Secretary is authorized to procure materials that, in the
judgment of the Secretary, are necessary to promote the Corps of
Engineers safety program.
(2) Distribution of materials to employees
The items purchased pursuant to this subsection shall be
distributed to employees of the Corps of Engineers to advance the
goals of the safety program.
(b) Employee recognition
The Secretary is authorized to incur necessary expenses for the
honorary recognition of the outstanding safety performance of employees
of the Corps of Engineers. Such recognition may be in the form of
certificates, plaques, cash, or other forms of awards.
(c) Authorization of appropriations
There is authorized to be appropriated $350,000 for each fiscal year
beginning after September 30, 1992, for carrying out the purposes of
this section.
