ACT NO. 1965
ACT NO. 1965 - AN ACT MAKING
CERTAIN ACTS OF THE FIRST PHILIPPINE LEGISLATURE APPLICABLE TO THE
TERRITORY OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS INHABITED BY MOROS OR OTHER
NON-CHRISTIAN TRIBES AND LEGALIZING, CONFIRMING, AND RATIFYING THE
COLLECTION OF TAXES AND ALL OTHER ACTION HERETOFORE TAKEN IN SAID
TERRITORY UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF SAID ACTS
Section 1. All Acts of the First Philippine Legislature
amendatory of Acts or laws, the whole, or certain provisions of which,
were, prior to said amendatory Acts, in force and effect in the whole
or in any part of the territory of the Philippine Islands inhabited by
Moros or other non-Christian tribes are hereby made applicable to and
shall have the same force and effect in said territory or part thereof
as the provisions of the original Acts or laws.
Sec. 2. All taxes collected and all action taken
and things done in the territory of the Philippine Islands inhabited by
Moros or other non-Christian tribes prior to the enactment of this law
by virtue of any Act hereby made applicable to said territory are
hereby legalized, ratified, and confirmed as fully to all intents and
purposes as if the same had by prior Act of the Philippine Commission
been specifically authorized and directed.
Sec. 3. The public good requiring the speedy
enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in
accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of
procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September
twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
Sec. 4. This Act shall take effect on its
passage.
