Presidential Decrees :
the information on the general registration of voters is being
disseminated throughout the country by the Commission on Elections and
WHEREAS, a substantial number of citizens especially in the countryside has not been fully apprised of the ramification of Presidential Decree No. 1896, such that it is necessary to reset the scheduled meetings of the citizens' election committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby decree:
"For the May 14, 1984 elections, said meetings shall be held on March 24, 25 and 31, and April 1, 1984: Provided, That if, after the last day of registration, the Commission on Elections should decide that a substantial number of qualified voters have not registered, it may authorize additional registration days in order that said voters shall not be deprived of their right of suffrage."
