PRESIDENTIAL DECREES

WHEREAS,
Presidential Decree No. 1184 provides among others, the ranks for
officers of the Integrated National Police Brigadier General and Fire
Brigadier General;
WHEREAS, the Integrated National Police is now composed of more than
55,000 officers, non-officers, and civilians technical personnel;
WHEREAS, police organizations in other countries provide for a higher
rank than Brigadier General;
WHEREAS, considering the strength of the Integrated National Police and
the vital role it plays in the enforcement of the law and the
maintenance of peace and order it becomes necessary that the
organization must have officers holding the rank higher than that now
provided by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of
the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the
Constitution, do hereby, order and decree:
