REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2673 - AN ACT TO
FURTHER AMEND SECTION SIXTEEN HUNDRED SEVENTY-THREE AND SIXTEEN HUNDRED
SEVENTY-FOUR OF THE REVISED ADMINISTRATIVE CODE AS AMENDED |
Section 1. Section sixteen hundred seventy-three of the
Revised Administrative Code, as amended, is further amended to read as
follows: "Section 1673.
Office of provincial fiscal. — Except as otherwise provided, there
shall be a provincial fiscal for each province. To be eligible for
appointment to this position, a person shall be a citizen of the
Philippines, who has been duly admitted to practice in the courts of
the Philippines, and has been in actual practice for at least six years
prior to his appointment, or has held during a like period, within the
Philippines, the office of clerk of court, law clerk in a bureau of the
National Government, or an office requiring the services of a lawyer.
He must be able to speak and write the Spanish language or the English
language and, being conversant with one, he shall have at least a fair
knowledge of the other. No person shall hold the office of city fiscal,
or assistant city fiscal of Manila, provincial fiscal, or assistant
provincial fiscal after he attains the age of sixty-five years; and
after the thirty-first day of December, nineteen hundred and
thirty-two, any city fiscal or assistant city fiscal of Manila,
provincial fiscal, or assistant provincial fiscal over sixty-five years
of age shall vacate his office. Sec. 2. Section sixteen hundred seventy-four of the Revised Administrative Code, as amended, insofar as it concerns the number of assistant provincial fiscals in the Province of Ilocos Sur, is further amended to read as follows: "Ilocos Sur, six assistant
provincial fiscals;" Sec. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. Approved: June 18, 1960 |
