REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6542 - AN
ACT STANDARDIZING THE SALARIES OF OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES IN THE
VETERANS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND PROVIDING FUNDS THEREFORE
Section 1. Any
provisions of laws, executive order, rule or regulation to the contrary
notwithstanding the salaries of officials and employees of the Veterans
Memorial Hospital are hereby standardized in accordance with the WAPCO
classification and pay plan as follows:
(a) Director of Veterans Memorial Hospital, at the
salary rate of WAPCO range 70, per annum:
(b) Assistant Director, Chief of Professional Staff,
at the salary rate of WAPCO range 68, per annum;
(c) Assistant Chief of Professional Staff, at the
salary rate of WAPCO range 67, per annum;
(d) Hospital Department Head (Medical Specialist
III), at the salary rate of WAPCO range 66, per annum;
(e) Medical Specialist II, at the salary rate of
WAPCO range 64, per annum;
(f) Administrative Officer III, Nursing Consultant
and Fiscal Comptroller, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 63, per
annum;
(g) Medical Specialist I, Chief of Service and
Division (none-medical), Health and Hospital Inspector, Senior
Executive Assistant II, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 62, per annum;
(h) Supervising Management Analyst I (Assistant
Comptroller) at the salary rate of WAPCO range 61, per annum;
(i) Senior Clinic Physician, at the salary rate of
WAPCO range 60, per annum;
(j) Senior Resident Physician, Clinic Supervisor I,
Budget Officer III, Assistant Chief Accountant III (Assistant Chief,
Accounting Division) at the salary rate of WAPCO range 59, per annum;
(k) Assistant Chief Nurse IV (Assistant Chief,
Nursing Service) and Dietetic Management Supervisor at the salary rate
of WAPCO range 58, per annum;

Accounting Machine Operator at the salary rate of WAPCO range 45, per
annum;

salary rate of WAPCO range 44, per annum;

Librarian, Head Telephone Operator, Laundry Foreman, Photographer II,
Optometrist, and Physical Therapist at the salary rate of WAPCO range

(aa) Nurse, Pharmacist, Senior Medical Technician, at
the salary rate of WAPCO range 42, per annum;
(bb) Senior Clerk, Supervising Telephone Operator,

(ee) Clerk I Statistical Aide I, Telephone Operator,
Storekeeper I, Senior Mason, Plumber, Painter, Security Guard, Laundry
Machine Operator II, Driver, Head Janitor, Accounting Clerk I, Fiscal
Clerk I, Postal Clerk I, Dental Laboratory Technician, Occupational
Therapy Technician, Senior Lamb and Brace Maker, Mechanical Plant
Operator I, Fumigator Foreman, X-ray Technician, Pipe Fitter, Midwife I
and Supervising Groundsman-Gardener I, at the salary rate of WAPCO
range 38, per annum;
(ff) Carpenter, Welfare Aide, at the salary rate of
WAPCO range 37, per annum;
(gg) Tailor, Laundry Machine Operator I, Mason, Cook
II, and Senior Janitor, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 36 per annum;
(hh) Mechanical Plant Helper, Dental Aide,
Duplicating Equipment Operator, Electrician Helper, Clerical Aide,
Nursing Attendant, Cook I Meat Cutter, Medical Laboratory Aide, at the
salary rate of WAPCO range 35, per annum;
(ii) Laborer, Janitor, Institution Worker, Binder
Helper, Food Service Worker, Seamstress, Groundsman-Gardener and
Pharmacy Aide, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 34, per annum;
Sec. 2. Other existing positions in the Veterans
Memorial Hospital not mentioned in Section One of this Act, except
casual and emergency positions shall be adjusted to the same range as
the other positions of equal WAPCO range as of June 30, 1970, have been
adjusted under this Act.
Sec. 3. The incumbents of the positions at the
time of the approval of this Act, whose salaries are herein
standardized shall be automatically be entitled to the benefits hereof
without the need of another appointment.
Sec. 4. In the implementation of the salary
adjustments under this Act, the salary of an employee shall be placed
in the same step it had in its range as of June 30, 1970.
Sec. 5. All funds needed for the implementation of
the salary adjustments provided for in this Act shall be taken from the
savings of Veterans Memorial Hospital appropriation. Thereafter, the
sums shall be included in the annual general appropriation Acts.
Sec. 6. Republic Act Numbered Five thousand two
hundred five, as amended by Republic Act Six thousand one hundred
thirty-three is hereby repealed.
Sec. 7. This Act shall take effect upon its
approval.
