REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8706 - AN ACT
CONVERTING THE LAKEWOOD NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF
LAKEWOOD, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR, INTO A COLLEGE OF ARTS AND
TRADES, TO BE KNOWN AS THE CANUTO M.S. ENERIO COLLEGE OF ARTS AND
TRADES, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFORE |
Section 1. The Lakewood National High School in the
Municipality of Lakewood, Province of Zamboanga del Sur, is hereby
converted into a college of arts and trades, to be known as the Canuto
M.S. Enerio College of Arts and Trades.
Sec. 2. The school shall offer four-year degree courses in Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education. It shall also offer two-year trade technical course, two-year diploma in technician vocational and other practical courses relevant to the development of the locality. Sec. 3. All personnel, assets, liabilities and records of the Lakewood National High School are transferred to and absorbed by the Canuto M.S. Enerio College of Arts and Trades. Sec. 4. The chairman of the Commission on Higher Education is hereby directed to take the necessary steps for the conversion and operation of the school and for the effective implementation of this Act. Sec. 5. The amount necessary for the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Lakewood National High School. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of the Canuto M.S. Enerio College of Arts and Trades shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. Sec. 6. All laws, presidential decrees, executive orders, rules and regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly. Sec. 7. This Act shall take effect upon its
