| REPUBLIC ACT NO. 891 - AN ACT
APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE
GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES DURING THE PERIOD FROM
JULY FIRST, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY-TWO TO JUNE THIRTIETH, NINETEEN
HUNDRED AND FIFTY-THREE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES |
| Section 1. The
following sums, or so much thereof as may be necessary, are
appropriated out of any funds in the Philippine Treasury not otherwise
appropriated for the period from July first, nineteen hundred and
fifty-two to June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, for the
purposes specified hereunder. ORDINARY EXPENDITURES A. — CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES (2) HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES I. — Salaries and Wages 1. For other services, including transportation and additional secretarial services for the Members of the House of Representatives or expenses incurred by direction of the Speaker P75,000.00 2. For the supplementary force that may be employed at any time in the discretion of the Speaker, including additional compensation for per diems to the military and police attaches of the Speaker P75,000.00 ————— Total for salaries and wages P150,000.00 ========= II. — Sundry Expenses 1. For payment of the cash commutation of the accumulated vacation and/or sick leaves of secretarial and clerical personnel of the Members of the House of Representatives P100,000.00 ————— Total for sundry expenses P100,000.00 ========= Total amount available for the House of Representatives P250,000.00 ========= H. — DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND COMMUNICATIONS IV. — Special Purposes 1. For the transportation of foreign air mail, Bureau of Posts P1,500,000.00 —————— Total amount available for the Department of Public Works and Communications P1,500.000.00 ========== I. — DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION IV. — Special Purposes 1. For the operation and maintenance of 3,000 additional public elementary classes including salaries of teachers, salary adjustments for 1950-1951, sundry expenses, purchase of equipment and for the purchase of textbooks, Bureau of Public Schools P6,103,900.00 —————— Total amount available for the Department of Education P6,103,900.00 ========== L. — DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH II. — Sundry Expenses 1. Consumption of supplies and materials, Bureau of Hospitals P230,000.00 North General Hospital P100,000.00 National Orthopedic Hospital P100,000.00 National Indigent Children's Hospital P30,000.00 ————— P230,000.00 ========= Total amount available for the Department of Health P230,000.00 ========= Total amount available for Ordinary Expenditures P8,083,900.00 ========== EXTRAORDINARY EXPENDITURES K. — DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL DEFENSE Special Purpose 1. For payment of family subsistence allowance to officers and enlisted men of the Armed Forces of the Philippines assigned to overseas duty, authorized in Republic Act No. 815 P1,500,000.00 —————— Total amount available for the Department of National Defense P1,500,000.00 =========== Total amount available for Extraordinary Expenditures P1,500,000.00 =========== GRAND TOTAL OF THE APPROPRIATIONS AUTHORIZED IN THIS ACT: NINE MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE THOU- SAND, NINE HUNDRED PESOS P9,583,900.00 ========== Sec. 2. The provisions of Republic Act Numbered
Eight hundred and sixteen to the contrary notwithstanding, any savings
from the appropriations authorized in the said Act for the Department
of Justice and the Department of National Defense may be used to cover
the following additional expenses of said departments, respectively,
not exceeding the amounts specified hereunder: Sec. 3. The special and general provisions of Republic Act Numbered Eight hundred and sixteen are hereby made applicable to the appropriations provided in this Act: Provided, That no portion of the different items of the appropriations contained in this Act shall be transferred to any other item. Sec. 4. Effective date. — This Act shall take
effect as of July first, nineteen hundred and fifty-two. Approved: June 19, 1953 |
