Gentlemen:

Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated JUN 29, 1999.

G.R. No. 127328 (Jane M. Buhisan vs. Commission of Elections, et al.)

G.R. No. 128663 (Municipality of Cainta, Province of Rizal vs. Commission of Elections, et al.)

G.R. No. 125646 (The City of Pasig vs. Commission on Elections, et al.)

The Court Resolved to (a) NOTE the (1) Manifestation, dated 6 may 1999, filed by counsel for City of Pasig, stating that the consolidation of G.R. No. 127328 with that of G.R. No. 128663 appears to be erroneous, the reason being that G.R. No. 127328 does not involve or concern the City of Pasig either as a petitioner or a respondent; (2) Appearance and Manifestation (re: Authority to represent petitioner/respondent Local Government), dated 18 May 1999, filed by Atty. Ricardo A. Castillo as counsel for petitioner/respondent City of Pasig, in his capacity as the duly appointed Legal Officer of said local government unit; and (3) separable Memoranda, dated: (3-a) 19 May 1999, filed by counsel for petitioner in G.R. No. 128663 and (3-b) 19 May 1999, filed by counsel for City of Pasig, both in compliance with the resolution of 9 March 1999.

The Court further Resolved to NOTE and GRANT the separate Manifestation/Motion, both dated 19 May 1999, filed by the Office of the Solicitor General (a) in G.R. No. 127328, praying that respondent Commission on Elections be allowed to adopt as its memoranda the comment it earlier filed and (b) for public respondent Commission on Elections, stating that since there are no new issues to be discussed, public respondent opts to adopt as its memorandum the comment earlier filed in order to avoid unnecessary pleadings which will just thicken up the records, filed in compliance with the resolution of 9 March 1999. Pardo, J., no part. Romero, J., is abroad on official business.
