Gentlemen:
Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of the of this Court dated FEB 28 2001.
G.R. No. 131038(The People of the Philippines vs. David S. Orand.)
Acting on the "Motion for Reconsideration of the Resolution of October 16, 2000 with Leave for an Unextendible Period of Ten (10) Days to File Brief," the Court resolved to DENY the motion for reconsideration. The prayer for a nonextendible period of ten days from 10 November 2000 within which to file an expanded Brief for accused-appellant is GRANTED. Nevertheless, since no expanded Brief, as required in the resolution of 16 October 2000, has been filed up to the present, ATTY. MANUEL OCAMPO is again fined in the amount of P5,000, payable within five (5) days from notice hereof; otherwise, he shall suffer imprisonment of five (5) days. Atty. Ocampo is further DIRECTED to file an expanded Brief for the Appellant within five (5) days from notice hereof. Should he fail again to do so, he would be arrested and detained at the detention cell of the National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue; Manila, until he shall have filed said Brief.
