Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated JUL 17 2001.
A.M. No. P-01-1486 (Judge Loreto D. Dela Victoria vs. Teofilo Mendez.) [Formerly A.M. No. 97-1-02-RTC. - Re: Failure of Court Interpreter Teofilo Mendez to Produce Court Exhibits.]
In the resolution of February 4, 1997, the Court required (a) Interpreter Teofilo Mendez of Regional Trial Court, Branch 6, Cebu City, to comment on the letter of then Judge Loreto Dela Victoria pertaining to his failure to account for court exhibits and (b) Branch Clerk of Court Leopoldo V. Ca�ete, of the same court, to conduct an inventory ofexhibits in cases pending therein.Considering that as of date Clerk of Court Ca�ete and Interpreter Mendez have not complied with the aforementioned resolution and considering further that Mendez has retired from service, the Court RESOLVED to treat the letter of Judge Dela Victoria as a formal complaint against Interpreter Mendez and require (1) Clerk of Court Ca�ete to SHOW CAUSE why he should not be disciplinarily dealt with for such failure and to comply within ten (10) days from notice and (2) Interpreter Mendez to file Comment also within ten (10) days from notice, otherwise the matter will be considered for resolution.Quisumbing, J., out of town on official business.Gutierrez, J., on leave.
