Gentlemen:
Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated FEB 5 2002.
G.R. Nos.142825-28 and 143735(People of the Philippines vs. Eduardo dela Luna.)
In the resolution of June 26, 2001, the Court required accused-appellant Eduardo dela Luna to submit within ten (10) days from notice the name and address of his new counsel in view of the manifestation of Atty. Vicente B. Montes that he had withdrawn as accused-appellant's counsel with the approval of the trial court.To date, despite receipt of the aforementioned resolution on August 7, 2001, accused-appellant has not complied with the directive of the Court.Considering that the appellant's brief is still to be filed, the Court RESOLVED to grant accused-appellant another period of ten (10) days form notice within which to comply with the resolution of June 26, 2001; otherwise, the Court will appoint the Public Attorney's Office as his counsel de oficio and cause service on it of the notice to file the appellant's brief.(Quisumbing and Carpio, JJ., abroad on official business)
