Gentlemen:

Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated OCT 22, 2002 :

G.R. No. 155459. (In the Matter of Petition for Habeas Corpus of Ramon M. Collado [Under Detention at BID])

Acting on the petition for the issuance of the Writ of Habeas Corpus dated 17 October 2002, the Court Resolves to (a) ISSUE the Writ of Habeas Corpus and make it returnable to the Court of Appeals, Maria Orosa Street, Ermita, Manila, and (b) ORDER [1] the Acting Presiding Justice to conduct an immediate RAFFLE for the assignment of this case to any of the incumbent Justices thereat; {2] the Division of the Court of Appeals of which the Justice to whom the case is raffled is a member, to set the case for HEARING on October 28, 2002, at 10:00 o'clock in the morning; notify the parties accordingly, try and decide the case on the merits, and forthwith FURNISH this Court. with a copy of its decision within two [2] days after its promulgation; and [3] respondent Commissioner of Immigration to make a RETURN of the Writ to the Court of Appeals, one day before the date of the hearing and APPEAR PERSONALLY or through authorized representative(s) and PRODUCE at the hearing the person of Ramon M. Collado, who is under detention at the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation.

The National Bureau of Investigation is DIRECTED to SERVE the Writ and the petition on respondents and to escort the person of Ramon M. Collado to the Court of Appeals on said date and time of the hearing.
