"G.R. No. 176389 (Antonio Lejano vs. Court of Appeals, People of the Philippines and Hon. Presiding Judge, RTC, Branch 274, Paraaque City) and G.R. No. 176864 (People of the Philippines v. Hubert Jeffrey P. Webb, Antonio Lejano, Michael A. Gatchalian, Hospicio Fernandez, Miguel Rodriguez, Peter Estrada and Gerardo Biong)
RESOLUTION
On February 28, 2011, Dante La. Jimenez filed a motion for reconsideration of this Court's Resolution dated February 15, 2011, finding him guilty of indirect contempt and imposing upon him a penalty of fine in the amount of P100,000.00. The Court DENIES the motion to absolve him of guilt considering that he presents no substantial argument to merit his prayer. The Court, however, REDUCES the fine imposed on him from P100,000.00 to P30,000.00 to conform with Section 6, Rule 71 of the Rules of Court.
The Court further Resolves to
(a) NOTE the Compliance dated February 24, 2011, filed by counsel for appellant Hubert Jeffrey Webb in G.R. No. 176864, manifesting that it received a copy of the Court's Entry of Judgment dated December 14, 2010 on February 22, 2011; and
(b) GRANT the Motion dated February 25, 2011, filed by Atty. Ferdinand S. Topacio, praying for ten (10) days from February 28, 2011 or until March 10, 2011 within which to file his compliance with the resolution of February 15, 2011, which among others, directed Atty. Topacio to show cause why he should not be held in contempt for certain public utterances as reported in the Philippine Daily Inquirer."
