RE: DESIGNATION OF ADDITIONAL SPECIAL COURTS FOR DRUG CASES AND FAMILY COURTS IN MAKATI CITY.
Sirs/Mesdames:
Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of the Court En Banc dated July 1, 2008
"A.M. No. 03-4-238-RTC.- Re: Designation of Additional Special Courts for Drug Cases and Family Courts in Makati City.- Acting on the Letter dated March 31, 2008 of Judge Marissa Macaraig-Guillen, Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 60, Makati City, requesting that the designation of the aforesaid court as family court in the resoltuion dated June 17, 2003 be revoked and instead it be designated as regular or special commercial court, the Court Resolved, upon the recommendation of the Office of the Court Administrator, to
"A.M. No. 03-4-238-RTC.- Re: Designation of Additional Special Courts for Drug Cases and Family Courts in Makati City.- Acting on the Letter dated March 31, 2008 of Judge Marissa Macaraig-Guillen, Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 60, Makati City, requesting that the designation of the aforesaid court as family court in the resoltuion dated June 17, 2003 be revoked and instead it be designated as regular or special commercial court, the Court Resolved, upon the recommendation of the Office of the Court Administrator, to
(a) GRANT the request of Marissa Macaraig-Guillen that the RTC, Branch 60, Makati City be relieved as family court;Nazario, J., on leave.
(b) REVOKE the designation of RTC, BRanch 60, Makati City as family court in the resolution dated June 17, 2003 in A.M. No. 03-4-238-RTC. However, the family cases already pending in Branch 60 shall not be unloaded except those cases where trial has not yet begun (where the accused are not yet arraigned in criminal cases and where pre-trial has not yet commenced in civil cases);
(c) DIRECT Judge Guillen to hear and decide all pending family court cases filed in her court wiht dispatch;
(d) ASSIGN newly filed aregular cases equal to the number of cases unloaded by Branch 60 and thereafter Branch 60 shall participate in the raffle of regular cases; and
(e) DIRECT the Executive Judge to see to it that equitable distribution of cases is effected."
