Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of the Court En Banc dated June 10, 2008.

�G.R. No. 167002 (Victor Reyes vs. Court of Appeals, et. al.).- It appearing that Atty. Carlos M. Carlos, counsel for respondents City of Manila and former City Mayor Joselito A. Atienza, paid the original fine of Php1,000.00 but failed to pay the additional fine of Php2,000.00 imposed in the resolution of January 22, 2008 and to file the required comment on the petition, within the period which expired on February 10, 2008 and February 15, 2008, respectively, the Court Resolved to INCREASE the additional fine of Two Thousand Pesos (P2,000.00), to Four Thousand Pesos (P4,000.00).

The Court further Resolved to DIRECT Atty. Carlos to

(a) PAY the aforesaid fine to the Court; and

(b) COMPLY with the (i) resolutions of April 12, 2005 and January 22, 2008, respectively, and (ii) show cause resolutions of March 14, 2006 and August 7, 2007, requiring the filing of the comment

both within ten (10) days from notice hereof, with a WARNING that should he fail to comply with the foregoing directives, he shall be ordered ARRESTED and DETAINED by the National Bureau of Investigation until he shall have complied therewith or until such time as the Court may order.

The Court further Resolved to NOTE the Certification, dated April 15, 2008, of Ms. Araceli C. Bayuga, SC Chief Judicial Staff Officer, Cash Collection & Disbursing Division-FMBO, that there is no record of payment made by Atty. Carlos M. Carlos in the amount of two Thousand Pesos (P2,000.00) as payment for Court fine imposed in the resolution dated January 22, 2008.
