THE PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINES V. ROLITO PUGOSA

Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated 24 February 2010:
G.R. No. 189978: THE PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINES v. ROLITO PUGOSA
After a careful review of the records of the case, the Court finds no reversible error in the assailed decision. However, we increase the award of exemplary damages in the amount of P30,000 for each count, pursuant to prevailing jurisprudence.
WHEREFORE, the Court ADOPTS the findings of fact and conclusions of law in the Decision dated 25 June 2009 of the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. CR-HC No. 00488-MIN, finding appellant Rolito Pugosa guilty beyond reasonable doubt of three counts of Rape, and AFFIRMS said Decision with the MODIFICATION that the award of exemplary damages for each count of Rape is increased to P30,000, pursuant to prevailing jurisprudence.
